NIKE AND AL-HILAL FC UNVEIL HOME KIT FOR 2017-18 SEASON NEW KIT INSPIRED BY THE HERITAGE OF AL-HILAL FC

Today, Nike and Al-Hilal FC revealed the 2017-18 home kit for the first time. The new kit that is specially designed for Al-Hilal FC, unites the club’s unique and dominant character incorporated with Nike Dri-Fit, technology.

HRH Prince Nawaf Bin Saad Al Saud, Chairman, Al-Hilal FC, expressed his delight for launching the new home kit for Al-Hilal. “My best wishes for both Al-Hilal and Nike in achieving success together through our continued partnership,” His Highness said.

Defined by a modern interpretation of the traditional shades of blue synonymous with Al-Hilal FC, the new home kit features a unique and fresh design for the Jameel League champions as they set to start the season and defend their title.

A key element in the design of the kit is the inclusion of various shades of blue in a way that perfectly represents the club’s collective culture between players and fans; similar to a blue wave.

The home shirt features diagonal gradient shades of blue with a darker composition on the frontal sides. A modern crewneck collar incorporates a blue strip that goes around the neck.

The sleeves and shoulders, are a contrasting white to emphasise the power of the shoulders, and rooting back to the triumph in 1995.

The sides of the jersey have a white stripe that runs to the mid of the shirt.

The jersey, which is finished with modern crew neck collar, also proudly displays the club crest, on the top left side.

The shorts come in white with a blue stripe on the sides and features the club crest on the right hand front corner and the players number and the Nike swoosh on the left side.

The socks come in matching blue.

The new kit is designed to create a powerful look on the pitch. The team will emerge from the tunnel on August 10th dressed for competition, ready to perform as a shark and illustrate the strength rooted in their commitment to the win.

“The new Al-Hilal Kit gives me a strong feeling of pride and optimism” says Salman Al-Faraj “trying it for the first time, made the whole team feel lighter, faster more confident. I can’t wait to start playing and winning matches with it together with the whole team.”

The Saudi champions will debut the new 2017-18 home kit on-pitch on Aug 10th in-store starting August 3rd at authorized retailers starting from SAR 399 for the Stadium Kit. The Match Kit will be available in stores as of Aug 13th starting from SAR 629.

Nike Collaborates with Young Saudi Artist Rashid Al Motaeeb to Celebrate Al-Hilal FC

With the dawn of the new season and the launch of the new kit, Nike collaborated with young local graffiti artist, Rashid Mohammed Al Motaeeb, IG @SNBL7, to celebrate the legacy and heritage of Al-Hilal Fc and its fans in a modern and young way.

Bringing together his creativity along with his passion for the club and the game, Rashid has created a masterpiece dedicated to the ‘Al-Hilal Nation’. Rashid artistic piece features a shark; representing the fierceness and speed of Al-Hilal; swimming through a blue ocean and huge waves that represents the unlimited passion from its supporters. The art piece also includes the word ‘El zaeem’ which means ‘The Boss’ referring to ‘Al-Hilal FC’. The number ‘14’ featured refers to the number of pro leagues won by the club.

“When Nike got in touch with me to work on a special art piece to celebrate Al-Hilal, I couldn’t be happier as this brings together the two things I am most passionate about in life, Al-Hilal and art” said Rashid. “The club and the fans which I proudly belong to; have a truly unique and distinctive culture which was the inspiration of my art piece”

Everyone can see the art piece at Nike Stores across Riyadh including Tahlia St and King Fahed store.

Nike Dri-FIT Technology

Nike Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts, where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.

The shirt is crafted using mesh fabric that makes up the full front and back panels of the shirt, helping increase airflow and facilitating enhanced movement.

Commitment to Sustainability

Nike leverages sustainable innovation for its football kits through the use of recycled polyester, delivering unrivaled performance and lower environmental impact.

The kit’s shirt and shorts are constructed with recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles melted down to produce a fine yarn.
Each kit is made using approximately 16 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted more than three billion plastic bottles from landfills into recycled polyester, enough to cover about 5,200 football pitches.
