CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia sharpens B2B focus

Istanbul/Hannover. Turkey is booming. Uniquely positioned at the juncture between Orient and Occident, Turkey’s economy, which comprises a diverse mix of manufacturing and service industries, has witnessed economic growth rates in recent years that are unparalleled in Europe. This growth has propelled Turkey into the ranks of the G20 group, the world’s 20 biggest economies, where it currently holds 17th place. The country’s strong economic performance and the ongoing digital integration of machines in its manufacturing industries have boosted Turkey’s demand for Industry 4.0-style software and hardware solutions. This year’s CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia will reflect this trend. As a hub for East-West trade and a springboard into the markets of Eurasia, the region’s leading ICT show is continually expanding its B2B offering in line with global industry trends and the needs of local buyers.

On 11 September 2014, CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia will be opening its gates for the 15th time. In the course of four days, visitors to the Istanbul Expo Center (IFM) will be exposed to a multitude of new ICT trends and technologies from around the world. They will also be able to partake in a comprehensive conference program that will cover a wide range of topical ICT industry themes. Apart from Turkish companies, the exhibitor lineup will include suppliers from as far afield as Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Finland, Germany, India Iran, South Korea, Macedonia, Poland, Russia Serbia, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and Turkey.

With its extensive conference program, CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia is a key incubator of IT-sector development and investment in Turkey and its neighboring countries. Last year marked the first time that spin-offs of the CeBIT Global Conferences and Metropolitan Solutions events were staged at CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia, taking the fair’s conference offering to a whole new level in terms of scope and international appeal. This year, the lectures and panel discussions will focus on key digital industry trends, such as social media, the Internet of Things, eCommerce and eTrade.

The Metropolitan Solutions Conference centers on the pivotal role of IT in modern urban infrastructure. This year, among much else, it will examine the latest applications and IT solutions for urban transport systems. The primary focus will be on sharing knowledge and experience. The Conference’s keynote speakers include: Michael Firnhaber, Manager Google Directions / Google Maps; Steve Kearns, Olympics Transport Planner, Transport for London, UK; Sampo Hietanen, CEO Intelligent Transport Systems, Finland; Rainer Schwarzmann, Vice-President Transport Consulting, PTV Group, Germany; and Olaf Lies, the Minister of Economics, Labour and Transort of the German state of Lower Saxony. Mr. Lies will be delivering the opening address.

This year’s CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia will also feature Healthcare IT, a new conference at which Turkey’s Health Minister, Mehmet Müezzinoglu, is expected to give an address. The Healthcare IT conference is dedicated to IT solutions for hospitals, general health IT issues and the broad and growing field of telemedicine.
