In the presence of the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Saudi Agriculture 2017 kicks off, with the participation of 29 countries

The Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti, inaugurated the 36th edition of the Saudi Agriculture exhibition 2017.  Organized by Riyadh Exhibitions Company Ltd., the exhibition kicked off on October 08 and will continue until October 11, in concurrence with the Saudi AgroFood and the Saudi Food Pack Exhibitions, at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

On this occasion, Eng. Al- Mushaiti said that the Saudi Agriculture Exhibition offers a perfect opportunity to reinforce communication between Government agencies and entities operating in the agricultural and food sector.  It also enables the exchange of experience between the participating parties and showcases the latest innovations in agriculture, irrigation and packaging. H.E. also explained that the strategic orientations of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture that focuses on the sustainable development of the agricultural sector to achieve water and food security.

He also shed the light on the incentives and loans offered by the Agricultural Development Fund, and the recent increase in loans for the modern technology by 50-70%, which plays a major role in achieving the strategic agricultural goals, and eventually achieving 2030 vision.

H.E. added that under the leadership of the custodian of the two holy mosques, the government has been giving a lot of attention to the agriculture sector, and so far more than 50 billion SAR worth of loans have been pumped into the market, contributing to the improvement of this sector. He also pointed out the fact that the ministry has been working very hard to improve and develop areas that have a positive impact on the farmers and the food security of the Kingdom.‎.

The Saudi Agriculture Exhibition 2017 coincides with the year of the vital development of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in line with the latest trends in the market, such as: the shift towards using compound fodder in the poultry industry instead of green and traditional feed, the inclinations towards investing in aquaculture and greenhouses, and the ultimate goal of achieving food security ; all of which comply with the Kingdom’s vision 2030, and the national strategy to develop the Fisheries Sector that is deemed to become a contributing sector to the Saudi economy.

The highly anticipated exhibition is gaining increased importance in light of the new trends and goals in the Kingdom, as it brings together some of the largest local and international companies every year. It has become a major platform to review the latest of products and technologies in the world of agriculture and related industries.

More than 350 global and local exhibitors from 29 countries will be taking part in the exhibition this year, in addition to the 9 international pavilions such as China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, Poland, Holland, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

This exhibition also covers the latest innovations in animal health and its mechanisms, beekeeping and honey production, agricultural funding, products and services, animal breeding, chemicals and fertilizers, cold storage and crop production, dairy products and equipment, feed and additives, and packaging systems.

Throughout 36 consecutive years, the exhibition has reinforced its position as a leading specialized tradeshow contributing to and supporting the development of the agriculture sector in Saudi Arabia.
