A culinary get-together in an excellent atmosphere – the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) with its 40 years of presence in the Kingdom held an exclusive GESALO-Sixt business Iftar event at the Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski Riyadh on Monday, June 4. Welcomed by GESALO Delegate Oliver Oehms some 80 local and international guests were enjoying a wide choice of exquisite food. The Iftar was jointly organised with German car rental giant Sixt.
The Iftar also rounded off the first half of the year, in which GESALO looks back on a series of projects and events. Recently, the team of Delegate Oliver Oehms won the second prize for the initiative of the 1st German-Saudi Startup Competition in a worldwide competition among the German Chamber organizations. “But also our traditional Catalog Show had record attendance, and we are delighted to have hosted and connected 800 business people in four different locations in the region,” Delegate Oehms stressed out.
Currently, preparations for activities in the second half of the year are in full swing: in addition to incoming delegations from Germany, for example from the textile and startup sectors, high-ranking representatives from business and politics will gather on the occasion of the GESALO 40 Years Anniversary in Riyadh on September 26, 2018.
In the view of the German-Saudi event highlight 2018 Oehms added: “We want to celebrate our proud and long history with our German and Saudi friends, clients, and partners.
