After a complete successful month since the launch of the Growing Initiatives Awards, Women Appreciation Month (WAM2013) concludes its campaign by awarding the award winners

Women Appreciation Month (WAM 2013) concluded the annual April campaign by hosting its final grand event at one of the most prestigious restaurants in Jeddah.  Ms. Ghazal Fawzi, WAM Project Coordinator and the event MC, welcomed the media personnel and distinguished guests; she then gave a brief about WAM 2013 and the Growing Initiatives Awards which was the dedicated program for this year.  This initiative entails providing planned funding, consultation and exposure to developing projects owned by ambitious women who are seeking personal growth and community involvement.  Ms. Fawzi explained the three stages of the Growing Initiatives Award, starting with the application phase that took place in March 2013, then the shortlisting and nominationof the top 10 projects, and finally the selection of the 3 award winners.  The award included planned funding amounting for80,000 Saudi Riyal, legal consultations from theJeddah Municipality, in addition to business consultations from Glowork.

 

Mr. Mohammed Totonji, Deputy CEO of Fad International (owning company of fashion brand femi9), gave a word on behalf of the founder and CEO of the company, Mr. Eyad Mashat, in which he praised the great participation of public figures, media personnel, and campaign sponsors to guarantee the success of WAM this year. Mr. Totonji promised that this initiative will continueand prosper with innovative long-term plans. 

 

On the other hand, Ms. Hala Al-Ghamdirepresented the Jeddah Municipality, sharing the participation of the municipality in WAM 2013; she highlighted the role of Dr. Arwa Al-Aama, Vice Mayor of IT Affairs and Female Section, as a jury member for the Growing Initiatives Award.  Ms. Ghamdialso elaborated on the role of the Jeddah Municipality in offering the necessary consultations and legal guidance in order for the winners tosustain and develop their projects.  She highly praised all the remarkable applicants’ projects, as the perceived enthusiasm reflects the genuine aspiration for benefiting from the opportunity to further succeed as entrepreneurs. 

 

Mr. Abdullah Al-Ghadouni, Glowork Board Member and one of Growing Initiatives Award jury members, clarified Glowork’s role in offering professional consultations and personalized feasibility studies to the winners. Mr. Al-Ghadouni thanked the WAM 2013 organizers and expressed his happiness about taking part in supporting such great talents.    

 

After the special closing statements, Fad International presented all the top 10 finalists with femi9shopping vouchers worth 3000 Saudi Riyals. 

 

And finally, the event organizers celebrated the success of the three winners of Growing Initiatives Awards; the winners are: Ms. GhadaMaghrabi for her project (Petals), Ms. Nahed Al-Hbail for her Project (Sky Touch), and Ms. ReemaAngawi for her project (AtharAlshabab). Mr. Mohammed Totonji presented the three winners with the funding checks amounting for 80,000 SR, presented by femi9.

As a closure, Mr. Mohammed Kanaa, Fad International COO, presented appreciation awards to all partners and supporting entities that contributed to the success of WAM 2013
