Public-private sector cooperation key to boosting UAE’s national workforce

Reducing unemployment among the national population is one of the aims of The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision. With 2013 dubbed as the year of Emiratisation, the Ministry of Labour UAE is focusing on public-private sector cooperation to ensure ample opportunities are available for the national workforce.

This year, the Ministry represented UAE at the 317th session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) at its headquarters in Geneva. The head of the delegation Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour UAE, expressed the country’s interest in increasing national workforce participation in the private sector, as well as protecting labour rights and safeguarding employer’s interests.

Mubarak will also be sharing the UAE’s workforce vision during his opening speech at the upcoming 8th Annual Human Assets Expansion Summit MENA 2013, taking place from May 21st to 23rd at the Westin Mina Seyahi in Dubai.

Organised by French deal facilitation group naseba, it is bringing together over 120 HR heads from leading organisations in the MENA region to network, share knowledge and discover latest HR solutions and best practices. Participating companies include the likes of Qatar Foundation, Dubai Airports, Dubai Customs, Omantel, Batelco, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, SABIC, Qalhat LNG and The Bahrain Petroleum Company.

We are pleased to have the presence of the Ministry of Labour of UAE at the summit and look forward to a productive three days.”
