Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, March, 2013–. The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh has been recognized for the first time this year during the Salon Culinaire 2013 competition recently held in Dubai. The palatial hotel has been harvesting awards as 1 Gold Medal for Open Showpiece, 3 silver medals for individual ice carving, Practical Fruit & Vegetable and Best Beef Practical and 9 Certificates of Merit in addition to the overall Best Hygiene Award which is he first time it was ever awarded outside the UAE.
The Emirates Salon Culinaire is hosting over 2000 chefs going head to head from hotels across the globe all keen to demonstrate their artistic skills and culinary flair. It is considered to be one of the top 3 Culinary Food competitions worldwide.
“We were the only team participating from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we were so proud to represent The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh and the kingdom in such prestigious competition” says Executive Chef Christopher James Stephens. “Our team was in training for 2 months before the actual competition , it was great learning experience and opportunity to get together with the people from the Culinary industry from hotels across the globe” he added.
