Saudi Arabia: – Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, supported the inaugural Saudi-French Business Forum, held in Paris from April 10-12. The high profile three-day event provided the ideal platform for French companies to broaden their understanding of business opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
During the event, French companies including leading multinationals such as Schneider Electric discussed investment programs, major projects, and the wider business opportunities in Saudi Arabia. The forum also fostered Saudi-French relations by actively matching suitable small amd medium businesses (SME)’s through special business-to-business networking events.
In attendance was, His Excellency Dr Fozan Al Rabia’ah the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry, Head of the Saudi French Business Council (CAFS) – Mohammad bin Laden, Saudi ambassador to France His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Ismael Al Sheikh, and French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia – His Excellency Bertrand Besancenot, as well as 500 high-profile delegates from Saudi Arabia and France.
During the event Henri Lachmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schneider Electric participated in a panel discussion, addressing the impact of human capital development on economic growth in both Saudi Arabia and France. Similarly, Christophe Campagne, Country President, Schneider Electric, Saudi Arabia, participated in a separate discussion on water, electricity and the power industry in the Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the discussion, Christophe Campagne said: “Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Middle East with vast amounts of growth potential. Schneider Electric has rolled out a number of initiatives in Saudi Arabia such as an Energy University platform. With over 150 online courses in energy efficiency and data center management focusing on infrastructure, industry, buildings, residential, as well as data centers and networks, the platform serves as a crucial learning tool in the industry. In Saudi Arabia Schneider Electric’s Energy University registered 1,035 new users during 2012.
