On 6 and 7 May 2013 Luc Frieden, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Luxembourg for Finance (LFF) isleading a financial mission to Dubai and Riyadh. A delegation of over 60 senior representatives fromthe private and public financial sector with strong roots and clientele in the region isparticipating in this mission. Since 2010, these financial missions to Dubai have taken place on an annual basis. Luxembourg is known for its attractive financial and legal framework with political and social stability and a skillful and multilingual workforce. From its ability to adapt and evolve in a changing global context, new opportunities arise from year to year. The financial mission is an opportunity for professionals and investors in the Middle East to learn more about the expertise and services that the Luxembourg financial sector can provide.
In the margins of the official programme of the mission, several bilateral meetings are organized between the Minister, the delegation and important local stakeholders. These meetings are aimed at further enhancing cooperation and building strong relationships between Luxembourg and the Middle Eastregion.
A seminar titled‘Luxembourg: AGateway to Investments in Europe and Beyond’, organized by Luxembourg for Financewiththe kind support of Dubai International Financial Centre, is being held on Monday, 6 May 2013. Luc Friedenisdelivering the opening address of the seminar, where the main topicsare ‘Investing in Real Estate’ and ‘Wealth Management solutions for GCC investors’. In addition, the Luxembourg Freeport is being presented at the seminar. Clients interested in Islamic finance have the opportunity toinquire on a broad range of services provided in this area. The seminar also givesuniqueinsights into opportunities arising in the real estate sector.
On May 7, the Minister and the official delegation will be present in Riyadh, where Minister Frieden participates atthe prestigious Euromoney Conference. In the margins of the conference, a double tax treaty will be signed between Luxembourg and Riyadh.
