LINKSYS LAUNCHES CLOUD NETWORKING MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS FOR SAUDI ARABIA SMBs TO CUT IT COSTS IN HALF Linksys Cloud Manager is a Middle East First Solution to Unlock Profitability for VARs and MSPs while Empowering them to Address SMB IT Pain Points

Linksys®, celebrating thirty years of networking and WiFi innovation for the home and business, today launched in Saudi Arabia the Linksys Cloud Manager, a cloud-hosted WiFi Management Platform purpose-built for small business environments that could reduce costs by about 50 percent and increase operational efficiencies. Across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, small- and medium-sized enterprises are heavily investing in Wi-Fi services. Across the Middle East and North Africa, organizations are increasing investment in IT services, with Gartner showing the region’s market growing 4.5 percent to USD 10.6 billion in 2018.

Supporting small- and medium-sized businesses, the Linksys Cloud Manager solution offers centralized visibility, management and control of a wireless network without the cost and complexity of traditional hardware controllers, overlay software, or annual hosting costs.

“The Linksys Cloud Manager will directly address this common complaint of SMBs having enterprise network offerings that are complex and over-engineered, with features and functionality beyond the usual requirements of a small business network. There is a gap in the Saudi Arabian market for affordable, business-grade cloud-managed WiFi management platforms designed specifically for SMBs,” said Amanulla Khan, Managing Director, Linksys Middle East, Turkey and Africa. “We believe in unlocking a lot of value for the SMB and MSPs by providing a disruptive product that will significantly lower the cost of SMB networking.”

Being a Middle East first solution, Linksys Cloud Manager enables IT administrators and other authorized users to remotely monitor, manage and troubleshoot single or distributed wireless networks in real time via a single dashboard and sign-on. This plug-n-play platform helps provide secure remote access to Linksys Business Wireless-AC Access Points, which are built with enterprise-grade, high-performance hardware, and is competitively priced with no licensing or maintenance fees for five years*. The included cloud license fits any budget and provides a complete solution for IT solutions providers and their SMB customers.

Simplifying SMB Network Management

The Linksys cloud architecture provides a feature set designed to streamline administration and improve productivity, giving users more control over network uptime and the ability to ensure QoS in real time.

  • Comprehensive Centralized Management via a Global Map – Manage multiple, unlimited client WiFi networks around the corner or around the world from one centralized dashboard with a single login. Visibility of all accounts, sites, access points, and devices.

    • Remote Monitoring and Network Insights – Provides alerts and real-time statistics so network administrators can anticipate potential network issues without the need for on-site monitoring and troubleshooting.  View through a web browser, historical and real-time traffic on the network, at-a-glance analytics about top clients and devices, including uptime, signal strength, connection duration, etc.  Built-in troubleshooting tools to identify problems using features such as a Ping Test, Blink LED, RF Environment Scan, and Rogue Access Point Detection.
    • Tremendous Scalability Scales seamlessly from single sites to unlimited networks worldwide; suitability for distributed networks (e.g., retail/branch offices).

  • Rapid Deployment with Zero-touch Provisioning – Configure APs even before unboxing them enabling a quick and simple installation process. After deployment, Linksys APs automatically connect to the cloud over SSL and can be configured remotely, whether they are offline or online. Users can provision the network in minutes with a few clicks.

  • Over-the-air Upgrades – Firmware is automatically updated.
  • Email and Text Push Notifications – Message alerts and warnings on network and device connectivity and network health re: power loss, downtime, or configuration changes.
  • Extremely Easy to Use Management Portal An intuitive, browser-based dashboard and responsive user interface enables IT administrators to provision networks on the go from a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone, with no additional app to download.
  • Flexibility – With no vendor lock in, customers can use a local interface to manage Linksys APs if cloud is no longer required.
  • Multi-role Platform Multi-management level accounts give users the ability to set roles (owner, admin, viewer) and provide key users access to specific networks.
  • Exceptional Warranty Terms and Technical Support – Linksys goes beyond the forum and email only support and offers 24X7 live customer support.

“The Linksys Cloud Manager is very easy and intuitive to navigate. I have used Meraki, Cradlepoint, and Aerohive in the past and this is by far the easiest interface to navigate,” said Michael Johnson, a solution engineer for RCN Technologies, an IT services company.

Unlocking Profitability for IT Solutions Providers

Limited resources, constrained spending budgets, and the proliferation of devices and IoT are further complicating wireless networks, and as a result, driving SMBs to move toward network managed services where an IT partner is responsible for the network on an ongoing basis.  The migration to cloud-based applications and everything-as-a-service presents a big growth opportunity in the SMB space for IT channel providers.

“Linksys places high importance on being partner-centric and meeting their needs with competitive solutions and programs. Linksys Cloud Manager was designed by truly listening to our regional channel partners’ business goals and challenges, and it addresses a gap where current cloud WiFi platforms fall short,” continued Khan.  “Linksys Cloud Manager makes it easier for IT solutions providers to remotely manage clients’ WiFi networks, and to increase revenue and profit in the Middle East SMB market.”

Linksys Cloud Manager is an ideal solution for resellers and IT solutions providers looking to develop a managed service model and generate recurring revenue. For those who already are, it’s a compelling alternative to pricier cloud solutions and will help round out their product portfolio to address customers with smaller IT budgets.

“While investigating the needs of SMBs, we quickly realized they had the needs of larger companies, but the market lacked an affordable and easy-to-use cloud management system,” said Anthony Pham, senior product manager, Linksys. “Linksys Cloud Manager meets an underserved gap for true, business-grade cloud SMB networking at a price point that no other vendor can match.”

Availability
Linksys Cloud Manager is pre-installed on select Linksys Business Wireless-AC Access Points and now available across stores in the Kingdom.

59 Percent of Saudi Organizations to Increase Cloud Spend in 2019 New YouGov Report Launched at Digital Saudi 2030 Adds Two-Thirds of Saudi Organizations Accelerate Cloud Digital Transformation Khaled Alsaleh: “In Saudi Arabia, 2019 will be the year of the cloud first approach”

The majority of Saudi Arabia’s organizations (59 percent) plan to increase cloud spend in 2019, driving their digital transformation journeys, according to landmark new research launched by YouGov today at the Digital Saudi 2030 event.

Running on the cloud is approaching a “tipping point” over the next year, as two-thirds (66 percent) of Saudi Arabia’s organizations plan to accelerate cloud-based digital transformation journeys in 2019. Impressively, 29 percent of Saudi organizations will increase cloud spend by at least 29 percent in 2019, the survey adds.

Enabling the Kingdom’s digital transformation, global technology company SAP is seeing strong demand on its Digital Hub, the centerpiece of its 4-year SAR 285 million Saudi investment plan. The Digital Hub includes Saudi Arabia’s first live cloud data center set up by a multi-national enterprise application software company.

“In Saudi Arabia, 2019 will be the year of the ‘cloud first approach,’ with the majority of organizations investing in cloud and fueling cloud-based digital transformation,” said Khaled Alsaleh, Managing Director, SAP Saudi Arabia. “Running on public or private clouds can optimize costs, scale up services, and free up staff for core business innovation. Our Digital Hub can provide the foundation for Saudi Vision 2030, Smart Cities such as NEOM, and enterprises of all sizes and verticals.”

Cloud is a front-and-center discussion in Saudi Arabia’s boardrooms, from startups up to government agencies. Survey findings also reveal that the majority of Saudi organizations say they are “comfortable” running their IT applications in private cloud (53 percent) and public cloud (60 percent) environments.

“Saudi Arabia is a fast-growing cloud market in the Middle East, with the majority of survey respondents indicating that they will increase their cloud spend and digital transformation in 2019,” said Kerry McLaren, Director – Omnibus and Agency Sales, YouGov. “That more Saudi organizations are comfortable running their IT applications on public rather than private clouds indicates the growing knowledge about the business benefits of public cloud platforms in the Kingdom.”

The YouGov survey covered 306 CIOs and IT decision-makers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Chef Ahmad Fraijeh and French dairy specialist Francois Robin spread the word on the virtues of European butter in KSA

A trio of leading Middle East chefs from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon have been selected by the French Dairy Board and the European Union to feature in an exclusive recipe book highlighting the many uses of European butter which will be distributed in the Middle East & Asia

Three of the Middle East’s leading chefs have been recognized by The French Dairy Board and the European Union, thanks to their flair for using the finest butters, and will now appear in an exclusive recipe book “Butter of Europe: French butter, the secret to make the difference”, to be distributed in the Middle East and Asia.

Chef Ahmad Fraijeh from Saudi Arabia, Chef Mohanad Alshamali from Dubai and Lebanese-based Chef Maroun Chedid were selected to have their creations featured in the book which not only showcases a range of recipes from leading chefs from around the world but also highlights the history of butter and top tips on how to use it.

Speaking at the workshop organized on November 3rd at Embers restaurant, Riyadh, Chef Ahmad Fraijeh, Chef & consultant at HMF Hospitality and European butter ambassador in the KSA, said:

“Butter is a key ingredient in many baked goods and recipes, using quality butter is essential to create beautiful pastries and gastronomic dishes. It can be used in many ways and will always enhance the aromas of your creations. French butter is highly qualitive, 100% natural and reliable, that’s why I prefer using it, it allows me a lot of creativity in my cooking”

During the event, Chef Ahmad made a cooking demonstration of the recipe he had created for the European butter book: Roasted rack of lamb with date butter; while Francois Robin was having a workshop on how to make your own butter and flavour it. Robin used local ingredients like zataar or pistachios to create exquisite flavoured butters that can be enjoyed on their own or in more elaborated recipes.

“We are seeing an increasing number of chefs in this region bringing new and unique tastes to the fore by being creative and adding something new to the butter being used – zaatar, truffle and date are just a few examples that have added an extra Middle Eastern flavour and another dimension to dish,” added Chef Ahmad.

The process of making butter is comprised of seven stages including collecting milk from the dairy farm; the separation of the milk and the cream; pasteurisation which involves heating the milk at 72 celsius for 15 seconds; the cream is then ripened which causes it to thicken, become more acidic and ultimately taste better; the cream is then churned which causes small clumps of butter to form; the butter is then drained and washed to remove any buttermilk; finally the butter is kneaded into a smooth even texture before being made into blocks, sticks and other types of pats.

Speaking at the event, Marie-Laure Martin – French Dairy Board representative, said “More than 95% of chefs in France and Europe say that butter is essential for cooking and baking, especially for its flavor. New uses have emerged, disrupting classic recipes and defining future trends and we are impressed by the creativity of the Middle Eastern Chefs when it comes to using European butter and associating it with their own local culture”
